Its geography

 

Australia is the largest island of the world. It has a surface of 7 682 300 square kilometers.

It consists of six states and two major mainland territories: the states are New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia. The two major mainland territories are the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory.

West

The North is called the Top end: it is a tropical area, with very strong storms.

 

 

There are mountains and  very fertile coastal* territories.

 

 

The East is a temperate area. This is the reason why the majority of the population lives there.

Its climate

 

As a whole, Australia has a hot and dry climate with a continental character.

 

Summers are hot and dry, winters are soft and rainy.
